Experience the Power of IE Tab Chrome Extension

As a user with a total rating of 4.33, I highly recommend the IE Tab Chrome extension . This valuable tool allows you to seamlessly access Internet Explorer within the Chrome browser. Whether you're a regular user or an enterprise customer, IE Tab offers a range of benefits that enhance your browsing experience and ensure compatibility with legacy technologies.

Emulating Internet Explorer with Ease

IE Tab Chrome extension precisely emulates different versions of Internet Explorer, ranging from IE7 to IE11. This comprehensive compatibility ensures that you can load web pages with the exact rendering engine you need, eliminating any compatibility issues that may arise. Whether you're accessing websites or applications, IE Tab ensures a seamless experience.

Simple Setup and Group Policy Support

Setting up IE Tab is a breeze. The installation of a separate executable called ietabhelper.exe is required, which acts as a bridge between the Chrome extension and the Internet Explorer rendering engine. This additional step ensures seamless communication and a smooth browsing experience. For enterprise users, IE Tab offers Group Policy support, making it easy to deploy the extension across multiple devices within an organization.

Seamlessly Accessing Legacy Technologies

One of the standout features of IE Tab is its ability to securely use the old IE rendering engine. This means that you can effortlessly access websites and applications that rely on technologies like Java, Silverlight, and ActiveX, all within the Chrome browser. No more hassle of switching between browsers for specific tasks.

Enhanced Collaboration and Privacy

IE Tab goes beyond simply emulating Internet Explorer. It allows you to edit SharePoint documents instead of opening them in read-only mode, enabling smoother collaboration with your colleagues. This feature has proven to be incredibly valuable in day-to-day work. In terms of privacy, IE Tab takes the security of its 2+ million users seriously. The extension's native code and the separate helper executable, ietabhelper.exe, ensure a secure and trustworthy browsing experience.

Deploying IE Tab for Enterprise Use

If you are an enterprise customer, deploying IE Tab across your organization is made easy with the available enterprise deployment options. For more information on how to automate the deployment of IE Tab Helper, you can reach out to the IE Tab support team at [email protected].

In conclusion, my experience with the IE Tab Chrome extension has been highly positive. It has allowed me to seamlessly access Internet Explorer's rendering engine within the Chrome browser, ensuring compatibility with websites and applications that rely on legacy technologies. With its user-friendly setup, Group Policy support, and enhanced collaboration features, IE Tab is a valuable tool for both individual users and enterprises. Did not work with running JRE within IE tab for some older legacy management pages for iot devices onsite. To add to that, you're charging a yearly subscription for this? Lots of free versions, plus I'll go open edge and use IE Compatibility mode instead and save the $$. Way too much sorry guys.

Always helpful thanks

Used this previously free extension for many years and was greatful for it. Would have happily paid for it, BUT 20$ A YEAR?! Sorry, but that seems a moneygrab to me. Cannot see, that this is justified, especially since there other free ways to simulate IE.

Wow.. No warning to users and remove their previously free extension... Checked and its $19\user PER YEAR.. No ty.. UNINSTALL

It was really handy for viewing my home cctv cameras and had used it for years. I have now gotten a message that my "2 week trial" is up and they want to charge me $20 for a yearly licence! Not happy at all and would not be worth the money.

We've used this reliable extention for many years in conjunction with a security camera. Works without fault and customer service is instant and very helpful.

This was excellent extension for a long time, and it offered free mode and paid mode that had additional features needed only for professional use. As I used it for personal use, free mode was really great for me. But since Microsoft removed Internet Explorer, looks like extension developers got greedy and removed the free mode. Maybe it is their right, but it is not a nice thing to do and it caused me to lose all trust in them. No trust means not using the software anymore, even if I really needed it and could afford the subscription payment. But actually this is not needed. There are multiple ways to use IE mode without using third-party extensions. For now it is still possible to open Internet Explorer on Windows 10 and 11 if you know how (Google is your friend). You can run Windows 7 or older in a VM if you really want. And at our work, where we have to manage it using GPO and make it easy for regular users to open special sites, there is IE Mode in Edge, that isn't too easy to configure in the right way, but once you figure out how to do it, it works quite nicely for the whole organization. Of course IE Mode in Edge is also available for home user, so no real reason to pay money for software IF you don't trust the developers.

Funny how this extension used to be free prior to support for IE dropped. Shameless money grab.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY PER MONTH. This is NOT free and should be removed from the chromestore for being sneaking!

Nicole Ahmed

Works but have suddenly started charging $19 annually. This is not made clear in the chrome store listing. Use the IE mode in edge instead.
